That last video, the famous blue eyes/brown eyes lesson/experiment, reminded me of this other fabulous video/lesson on a rather different topic. This is one segment of about an hour long workshop on how to teach children with learning difficulties. I love this to bits as it’s such a clear example of the lesson to be taught to those participating in the workshop - that language comprehension is complex and not just about knowing the definition of words.
On a second level, the first half is also a great demonstrator of the importance of prior knowledge for students to be able to properly understand and learn new material. Along with presenting information clearly (as demonstrated by this video from the same workshop), that’s about the most important consideration for a teacher when organising lessons.
